I used to be an anxious sales and marketing professional in financial services, and then in technology and consulting. I was overworked, overscheduled, and overwhelmed. Over a twenty-year career, I was quite successful, but unwell and unhappy.
Life in my 20s in New York City was like something out of a movie. I was living life in the fast lane–. But like the bus in the movie Speed, it felt like if I slowed down, I’d blow up and lose it all. But what did I really have? I knew that I wasn’t happy on the inside. I realized it was time to get off of the bus.
I picked up and moved to Boulder, CO. My 30s consisted of growing my second company for acquisition, enduring a series of startup/layoff cycles and co-founding a company. I began to integrate more self-care, create more boundaries. and I stopped trying to do it all. I found yoga, and the more I tuned in, the more I was inspired.
I had such a dramatic shift that I knew it was time to change careers and help others do what I had done. I am trained and certified as an Integrative Health Coach through Duke University’s School of Integrative Medicine and I am living the life I visualized.
And now, I inspire others to bring about change in their own lives, in their own way, by combining the art of self-care with the science of behavior change.
